Greetings Ector County Republican Women Members and Associates,
We had a large crowd to welcome Texas' First Lady, Anita Perry, our guest speaker for May.  Mrs. Perry's focus was on the refurbashing of the Texas Governor's Mansion.  It was interesting hearing the history of the mansion and the governors that have lived there over the years.  Renovation is underway ant thankfully our Texas historical artifacts were not distroyed even thogh the nasion sustaned much damage during the fire.
I encourage each and everyone to stay involved dring the summer.  Tisha Crow, 1st VP for Programs, has speakers scheduled for June, July and August.  It is important for us to continue to be supportive and active even during a time when there are so many out of town.  Dr. Donald May, from the Center for Economic Development in Lubbock , will be our guest speacker on June 15th.  Please be sure to send in your reservation to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or call 580-7920.  RSVP lunch cost will be $10.  Lunch will be ready to serve at 11:30 and the meeting will start at noon.
Do you know the Texas state preamble?  It begins with ... We the People of the Republic of Texas, acknowledging with gratitude, the grace and beneficence of God.  All 50 state have preambles acknowledging God in one way or another.  It is amazing how so many of our elected officials have lost their focus.  So I ask you to continue to pray for our local, state and national elected officials, our nation and our military personnel.  We are definitedly in a battle and in need of God's guidance.  If we all took at leat 5 minutes every day to pray for the above individuals, just think of the impact those prayers could hae.
There has been some discussion regarding another Tea Pary during July (sometime around the 4th).  If you would like to be involved with the planning/helping please let me know.
The TFRW Biennial Convention is November 13-15 in Galveston.  You can check available hotels at TFRW.com.  I know there will be many interesting topics, elected officials and candidates for state offices at the convention.  Make your airline and hotel reservation now!
